Raphael Wallfisch

Raphael Wallfisch has remained as busy as ever in the year since he joined Hennessey Brown Music. Selected highlights include playing the Moeran cello concerto with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the English Music Festival and recording the Henriette Bosmans cello concerto with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. He has played in a poignant performance of Jonatan Dove’s In Exile with his son Simon singing the baritone part. The Poznan Philharmonic were conducted by Lukasz Borowicz.

Raphael’s energy, versatility and repertoire is extraordinary with dozens of concertos at his fingertips. His piano trio have performed 2 sell out concerts at the Wigmore Hall since he joined us.

Within ten days of his recent return from Poland Raphael played three superb performances of Taverner’s Protecting Veil in a brilliant production with students from Trinity Laban College of Music. They performed at Blackheath Halls, Stoller Hall Manchester and Wells. Oh, and Raphael played in a very demanding chamber music programme on the Thursday at the Leamington International Music Festival. We wish we had his energy!
