Jyotsna Srikanth

Jyotsna continues to teach violin in both carnatic and western traditions and musicianship in a variety of settings including private tuition and ensemble classes. She has coached many of her students towards their Arangetram, a South Indian musical graduation ceremony.

She has given workshops in schools, universities and conservatoires across the UK, India and Europe, to name a few she has taught at the Liverpool Hope University, University of Cambridge, Grand Union Orchestra Summer School, Malmo Conservatoire, Sweden and University of Oulu, Finland. Her workshops on 'Comparative study between Indian and Western music' and 'Indian violin & the western violin' are very popular in Europe.

Jyotsna founded Dhruv Arts, a UK-based not-for-profit organisation that provides music classes, workshops and performances of South Asian, Carnatic music. Community and creativity are at the heart of Jyotsna’s charitable and festival work.

Jyotsna is also the founder and curator of London International Arts Festival (LIAF). LIAF celebrates the many colourful cultures of London’s historic East End across landmark city venues. The first LIAF took place in 2012 and has since featured artists from far and wide across the globe: India, Mexico, Serbia, Turkey and North America inclusive.
Alongside world-class concerts, LIAF offers hands-on masterclasses providing a platform for cross-cultural multi- generational interaction.
