Elizabeth Wallfisch is proud to have been born in Melbourne, Australia. Since her student years at the Royal Academy of Music in London she has resided in Europe. A renowned performing artist, she is one of the leading personalities in the field of early music and is just as esteemed as an interpreter of the classical literature for violin.
Elizabeth’s interpretations, informed by historical sources and her compelling performance style are valued around the globe. She has led, as director and soloist, renowned ensembles including the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (Great Britain, Raglan Baroque, Netherlands Bach Society (Netherlands), Tafelmusik (Canada) L’Orfeo Barockorchester (Austria), Freiburger Baroque, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra , and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, plus too many to mention here.
For 18 years Elizabeth was Concert Master of the Carmel Bach Festival orchestra in the USA, and in 2007 and 2013 she had the great honour to be Music Director of National Music Camp Australia under the Australian Youth Orchestra umbrella. Elizabeth was Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
