Ricardo Jaramillo is one of the most influential conductors in Latin America, and has started his tenth season as Principal Conductor of the Nueva Filarmonia de Bogota, performing at all the major concert halls in Colombia. Recent guest highlights include concerts with the Berliner Symphoniker at the Berliner Philharmonie, the City of London Sinfonia at London's Mansion House, and Rebow Ensemble at Carnegie Hall.
Jaramillo's recording Regreso by Samuel Torres, with the Nueva Filarmonia, won the Latin Grammy for Best Classical Album of 2019. The preeminent Colombian music critic described the work for congas and orchestra as "a work of great importance for Colombia."
Ricardo Jaramillo has conducted orchestras across the world, including in the United Kingdom, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, and all the major orchestras in Colombia. Operatically, he conducted Salsipuedes by the Mexican composer Daniel Catán at the presitigious Bellas Artes Palace in Mexico City, and, in July 2020, a new production of Carmen in Ecuador.
Highlights of the 2023/24 season include a Beethoven Symphony Cycle with the Nueva Filarmonia de Bogota, and a recording at Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra.
